LES DEESES DE AZZEDINE ALAÏA

‘Les Deeses de Azzedine Alaïa’ (in English; The Godesses of Azzedine Alaïa) is a film which celebrates the life and work of Alaïa. Using non-linear story telling techniques and sequences of abstraction the film playfully weaves between different influences and moments, revealing and then hiding imagery, staying true to Alaïa’s reputation as the enigma of fashion.

‘Les Deeses de Azzedine Alaïa’ was made using cut out water colour and ink illustrations, collaged with real cotton and silk skirts. The film was commissioned by Another magazine in advance of Alaïa's major retrospective in at the Palais Galliera Paris 2013. See there anothermag.com article here.

Screened at the Milan Fashion Film festival 2014.
